Join our Board

1 April 2022

Interested in lifting productivity and improving wellbeing in Aotearoa New Zealand? The New Zealand Productivity Commission Te Kōmihana whai hua o Aotearoa is seeking up to two new Commissioners to join its Board.

Applications are invited from people with governance capability or potential who can bring a fresh perspective as a Commissioner from their career and life experience.

To be considered for this role, you will have contemporary research experience in economics, practical policy experience in the context of New Zealand government processes and structures and a critical understanding of Te Ao Māori perspectives and the Crown-Māori partnership.

High quality Crown governance is essential and every person serving on a Crown board plays a crucial role in its success, including giving effect to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi: governance, good faith and reasonableness, active protection of Crown and stakeholder interests, cultural awareness, rangatiratanga, and partnership.

Ministers are always looking to increase diversity of thought, as board decision-making to achieve objectives for the diverse communities the board serves is enhanced by the inclusion of a wide range of diverse perspectives and insights, worldviews, and cognitive preferences.

The Treasury is inviting applications on behalf of the Minister of Finance for these positions.
