About Murray Sherwin
Murray is an economist with over 40 years' experience across a wide range of public policy roles. He took up the role of Chair of the NZ Productivity Commission when it was formed in 2011. His previous roles include CEO/Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank of NZ and Chief Manager of the Reserve Bank's Banking Supervision, Financial Markets and International Departments. He has experience as an economist at the OECD, member of the Prime Minister's Policy Advisory Group, member of the Board of Executive Directors at the World Bank, member of the Advisory Board of the New Zealand Debt Management Office. Murray is a Charter Member of the New Zealand Institute of Directors.
